Plans only cover Pain Management
United Healthcare: Most POS policies pay the standard rate and will cover our standard Acupuncture Service.
Cigna: For Pain management only, and usually covers a 30-minute session, which includes 15 minutes of Acupuncture. Additional services, such as cupping, infrared, or electrical stimulation, are often not covered and may incur additional self-pay rates.
Additional health concerns may incur additional self-pay charges not covered by the policy.
Out -of-Network Plans
Plans only cover Pain Management
Aetna: We are out of Network and may take 1-3 business days to verify, as we have to call during business hours. Aetna policies that cover out-of-network Acupuncture typically cover our standard Acupuncture rates.
BCBSTX: We are Out of Network. BCBSTX policies that cover out-of-network Acupuncture typically cover our standard Acupuncture rates.
Additional health concerns may incur additional self-pay charges not covered by the policy.
Medicare Limited Coverage of Acupuncture
Acupuncture may be covered if you do.
Medicare does not cover a Licensed Acupuncturist
- We offer a seniors with Medicare Self-pay rate. Call to learn more.
- Only one carrier American Specialty Health provides a Medicare plan that covers a licensed Acupuncturist.
- While currently in Texas, Medicare can't directly pay a Licensed Acupuncturist, we are hopeful for a change. Legislation in Austin is underway to make this possible, potentially expanding your coverage options.
