Dr. Florida, a seasoned Houston Acupuncturist, has been practicing as a licensed professional since 2014. Her extensive clinical experience, gained from helping tens of thousands of individuals, and deep expertise in the field have uniquely positioned her to help individuals achieve their health goals naturally. These goals include managing chronic pain, improving mental health, and enhancing overall wellness. Her passion for health and wellness led her to pursue a master's degree in Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine, which she later complemented with a PhD in Emotional Mindset Health. Her journey began in the insurance and banking industry, where she spent 12 years assisting people with health, life, and disability insurance. However, her growing interest in wellness, which she had been studying on the side for her benefit, eventually led her to establish her private practice, where she now specializes.
Before starting her practice, she worked with weMED Wellness in central Houston for 7 years. I have known Dr. Bing You and Tao Ma since 2006, when I was a graduate student under their instruction in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. In 2012, I began working with them at their clinic, focusing on patient outreach and education. Upon becoming licensed, I worked with weMED as an Acupuncturist, gaining valuable clinical experience. I helped them grow the practice significantly during my time there. In 2018, weMED changed its business and practice model from a traditional Acupuncture and wellness approach to a focus on large-scale regenerative medicine and chronic disease management programs. Although my practice method remained unchanged, the overall practice underwent significant changes, and I had to adapt my approach accordingly. This experience is a testament to my ability to handle change and my commitment to providing the traditional Acupuncture and wellness services that my clients value. In light of that, in 2019, I decided to launch my practice in a new location, allowing me to continue practicing the way I had since 2014 and provide the traditional Acupuncture and wellness that my clients prefer and expect.
In Eastern countries, Chinese medicine acupuncture is the primary form of medicine, with Western Medicine serving as a complement. In the US, acupuncture therapy is a complement to your Western Medicine care team. We collaborate with your medical team to optimize your care and address any gaps. Western Medicine excels in treating severe diseases, managing emergencies, performing life-saving procedures, and providing necessary medications. However, when it comes to wellness, they often advise people to address their issues at home. We, on the other hand, offer a more hopeful approach. We strongly believe that many symptoms can be reversed naturally with holistic health and wellness, instilling a sense of optimism in your health journey. Our services, including lifestyle advice, herbal medicine, acupuncture therapy, and cupping Chinese medicine, are designed to provide long-term relief with a short series of visits. We know when to refer people to a physician or specialist and how to collaborate with your doctors to ensure the best care in central Houston.
